Woodgrain methods Vancouver painting workshop Vancouver film methods workshop class in session copy

Joyce Woods excerpt interview from the BBC Television’s The Arts Show

Learn painting processes used in the film industry (and in commercial and resisential applications) through demonstrations and practice with one of the most knowledgeable scenic artists in the industry.

These courses are perfect for art students, artists, trades painters–those with a desire to expand their skills. Prior painting experience is recommended. These courses are “hands on” painting experiences!

Instructor Joyce Woods (B.Ed., MA) has over 20 years of experience creating trompe l’oeil surfaces for film projects and private clients. Class space is limited so early registration is recommended. Bring a bag lunch. Wear layers of clothing appropriate for painting, comfortable shoes.

For artists and other people with painting experience, developing a knowledge of these skills affords them diversity of employment options in the film industry and architectural and furniture restoration in the commercial and private spheres. And, perhaps more importantly, acquiring these skills expands one’s opportunity to be more creative with paint materials.
