This one day intensive workshop (Saturday 8 hours) will introduce students to many common types of marbles, stones, tools and techniques to create faux marble for film and other purposes. The class will examine samples of real marble and faux marble. We will discuss vocabulary associated with creating faux marble in reference to the elements and principles of design.
The instructor will demonstrate different tools and processes with commonly used materials. Students will create several samples of their own to keep. An emphasis on careful documentation of the processes and non toxic materials will be emphasized. All tools and materials used are included in the course fees.
Appropriate painting attire is mandatory. Students must bring a bag lunch to eat during a brief half hour break.
