Paint Methods for Film: Ageing Methods (Vancouver, Canada)
$225.00This one day (8 hour) course will introduce students to
several ageing processes used in the film industry paint
department for sets, set decoration, and props. There
will be an emphasis on using non toxic materials and
processes. Some of the types of ageing we will do include:
water and rain age, dust and dirt age, block age, crackle
age, mold, lichen and moss age, rust and other metal age.
We will use a variety of materials to create 2 and 3
dimensional effects. All tools and materials are included in
course fee.

Paint Methods for Film: Colour Mixing (Vancouver, Canada)
$225.00This one day (8 hour) course will introduce students to
colour theory and how to accurately mix and match colours
using tints, scenic paints and latex based paints commonly
used in the paint department of the film industry.
The emphasis will be on learning to train the eye to see and
analyze colour and value relationships. We will use film
industry materials and do exercises related to common
film industry colour mixing tasks. All tools and materials are included in
course fee.*it is strongly recommended that this course be taken as a prerequisite to others in this series

Paint Methods for Film: Marbling (Vancouver, Canada)
$225.00This one day intensive workshop (Saturday 8 hours) will introduce students to many common types of marbles, stones, tools and techniques to create faux marble for film and other purposes. The class will examine samples of real marble and faux marble. We will discuss vocabulary associated with creating faux marble in reference to the elements and principles of design.
The instructor will demonstrate different tools and processes with commonly used materials. Students will create several samples of their own to keep. An emphasis on careful documentation of the processes and non toxic materials will be emphasized. All tools and materials used are included in the course fees.
Appropriate painting attire is mandatory. Students must bring a bag lunch to eat during a brief half hour break.

Paint Methods for Film: Wood Graining (Vancouver, Canada)
$225.00This one day workshop will introduce several approaches to making wood grains using different tools and techniques to create faux bois for film and other purposes. The class will examine many samples of real wood and faux bois. We will discuss vocabulary associated with creating faux bois in reference to the elements and principles of design.
The instructor will demonstrate different tools and processes with commonly used materials. Students will create several different wood grain samples of their own to keep.
